Terrible packing and stopped working in a month

This is the second of this item I've purchased because the first one stopped working (first one was from a different store). My suspicion is that the first one stopped working because it was previously opened/used as I noticed the box was already opened. The one I purchased from this store was also previously opened but it was packed and taped together horribly so I couldn't even save the cute box. There's a possibility these humidifiers were just not meant to last, but I'm upset that I paid way more than the original price yet the box was previously opened and then not packed in a salvageable way.

Hello, regarding your inquiry, the product packaging was opened to inspect for any damage and to ensure that customers do not receive defective items. We also previously sent you an email regarding the package status, but we did not receive any response from you.

As for the shipping cost, DHL’s international rates are inherently expensive. We provided alternative, more affordable shipping methods, including sea freight, but you did not choose them. In fact, sea freight would have been cheaper than your shipping cost. According to international shipping calculations, the larger the package volume, the higher the shipping cost. Since your order contained larger items, we optimized the packaging to help you save on shipping while ensuring product safety.

Our packaging method reduces the box size to closely match the product dimensions, minimizing unnecessary volume and extra shipping costs. If we had used the original packaging, the volume would have been significantly larger, making the shipping cost even higher.

Additionally, you did not contact us immediately to clarify the issue. According to DHL’s tracking information, your package was inspected by customs. During customs inspections, packages are opened, and customs officers do not carefully reseal them—they simply tape them back together, which aligns with your description of the package being poorly repacked.

Your item is classified as a sensitive product, and choosing DHL naturally increases the likelihood of customs inspection. If customs opened your package and did not properly reseal it, we do not believe it is fair to hold us responsible for this.

Furthermore, despite our previous emails, you did not respond. Now, after two months, you have suddenly brought up this issue without providing any photos or evidence. Given this situation, we are unsure how to assess or address your concerns.
